Benny Hinn dropped a bombshell on the Christian community this week by denouncing the prosperity gospel that he has promoted and preached for decades now. I watched the video with many doubts, but my heart softened as I heard some of the following quotes.

“Today, sadly, among a lot of circles, all you hear is how to build the flesh.”

“I’m sorry to say that prosperity [gospel] has gone a little bit crazy, and I’m correcting my own theology and you need to all know it.”

“I think it’s an offense to the Lord to say, ‘give $1000,’ I think it is an offense to the Holy Spirit to place a price on the gospel. I’m done with it!”

“I don’t want to get to heaven and be rebuked.”

“ The gospel is not for sale.”

Has Benny Hinn had a change of heart? Has he surrendered to the true gospel and renounced false teachings?

I think what happens next will demonstrate to everyone if this was his latest publicity stunt or if he has genuinely had a change of heart.

Hinn currently has a net worth of 42 million dollars. So what will he do with this money?

If he is wise and his heart is truly repentant, he will do as our friend Zacchaeus did. When onlookers mocked Jesus for taking the time to be with a tax collector and a thief,

Zacchaeus stood up and said to Jesus, “Look, I’ll give half of my possessions to the poor, Lord! And if I have extorted anything from anyone, I’ll pay back four times as much!” And Jesus said, “Today salvation has come to this house.”

This is what happens when God convicts a man’s heart. He responds with more than words, he responds with life-changing repentance. A complete reversal from his previous behavior.

So, Mr. Hinn, This is your day!. If you would like some help in knowing where to direct half of your possessions, I would be happy to recommend a few great gospel organizations.

UPDATE: Well, it has been almost three years since Benny Hinn shocked the world with this declaration. Has anything changed? I did a little research and found that very little has actually changed. I watched a recent video of his teaching in Toronto, and he was up to his same old shenanigans. there were literally bodies lying all over the stage. He didn’t seem to be begging for money as much but his Net worth has increased significantly in the last 3 years. His net worth is now estimated between $45-60 Million.

Costi Hinn, nephew to his famous uncle, also confirms that he is still very active in the prosperity gospel ministry and theology. This video also show evidence of him asking for money less than a year from his 2019 announcement. It is very sad indeed, but not surprising.
