Our things are packed, our house looks like a bomb went off, and the movers are coming tomorrow. We have seen our friends and said multiple goodbyes. It’s finally becoming real; we are leaving the place we have called home for ten years.
After ten years in Uganda, I will miss many things about the Pearl of Africa. But there are also some things that I will be happy to bid farewell to. The good greatly outweighs the bad, but it would be dishonest of me to not address the things that I will most certainly not miss.
We have had the privilege to live in the pearl of Africa for ten years now. Sadly, that time is coming to a close. There are certain things that I will not miss (Bodas, politics, matooke), but there are things about Uganda that will be etched in my memory forever, and I will cherish them till the day I die. Here is a list of things I will miss about Uganda.
